Three things that make the call faster

Know the model number
It's on a sticker on the side or underside of the indoor unit. It tells us the capacity and the refrigerant type, which tells us what to bring.

Describe the symptom, not the diagnosis
"It's blowing warm and there's ice on the outside pipe" is far more useful than "I think it needs gas". Tell us what you can see and hear.

Know the room size, roughly
For a quote on a new unit, the room's floor area and which way the windows face is most of what we need to size it correctly.
